To address the problem of students traveling outside in all weather conditions to the separated North and South school buildings, a new addition was built. The new structure was constructed in the middle of both schools to create a single school for all students and staff. The addition included a large school entrance, a new library, and renovation and upgrades to the North and South schools.

This project consisted of an approximately 38,850 square foot facility to host the Utility Technician program for State Tech. The building’s main area is about 1,912 square feet of broadband lab classroom space, about 2,370 square feet of learning commons space, and approximately 25,520 square feet of indoor utility lab space. The remaining space is allotted for mechanical, restroom, and storage areas.

The State Fair Community College in Sedalia chose Prost Builders to construct this new facility to increase the pipeline of students pursuing high-demand, technical careers. The new space more than doubles the college’s capacity to teach students the industry’s latest welding techniques and a wide range of computerized tools for precision machining. The facility also allows the expansion of other programs for industrial maintenance, robotics, logistics, leadership/supervisory skills, and apprenticeships.
